What’s wrong with it?
IF THE KINGPIN BREAKS, THE SUSPENSION WILL COLLAPSE CAUSING LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, POSSIBLE RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
MOSS MOTORS REPLACEMENT KINGPINS FOR USE AS A FRONT SUSPENSION PART FOR VINTAGE AUSTIN-HEALEY CARS THAT WERE MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 1953 AND 1968.
THESE KINGPINS WERE MANUFACTURED WITH INCONSISTENT FORGING AND HARDENING PROCEDURES.
THE KINGPINS MAY BE TOO BRITTLE AND COULD BREAK WITH TYPICAL FRONT SUSPENSION FORCES.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
