What’s wrong with it?
IF A SHORT CIRCUIT OCCURS IN EITHER SITUATION, THE CIRCUIT BREAKER WILL TRIP. HOWEVER, IF THE BREAKER FAILS TO TRIP, ARCING FROM THE SHORT CIRCUIT COULD IGNITE ANY COMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL OR ITEMS THAT MAY BE STORED IN THE KITCHEN SINK CABINET AND START A FIRE.
ON CERTAIN MINI-MOTORHOMES EQUIPPED WITH A KITCHEN SLIDE-OUT, SOME 120-VOLT ELECTRICAL WIRES UNDERNEATH THE KITCHEN SINK ARE ROUTED IN SUCH A MANNER THAT THEY COULD MAKE CONTACT WITH ABRASIVE COMPONENTS, WHILE THE SLIDE-OUT IS BEING OPERATED AND CHAFE THE PROTECTIVE COVERING CREATING A POSSIBLE SHORT CIRCUIT.
IN ADDITION, THERE IS AN EDGE ON THE SLIDE-OUT FLOOR THAT COULD COME IN CONTACT WITH 120-VOLT ELECTRICAL WIRES ROUTED DOWN THROUGH THE MAIN FLOOR ALSO CREATING A POSSIBLE SHORT CIRCUIT.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
