What’s wrong with it?
THE CRACKING COULD AFFECT VEHICLE STABILITY. THE REDUCTION IN VEHICLE STABILITY WOULD BE INDICATED TO THE OPERATOR BY ABNORMAL HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS SUCH AS SWAYING OF THE VEHICLE. IF THE OPERATOR DOES NOT HEED THE REDUCTION OF VEHICLE STABILITY, A VEHICLE CRASH COULD OCCUR IN THE FORM OF A ROLLOVER.
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: FRUEHAUF LARGE CAPACITY PETROLEUM TRAILERS BUILT WITH TANDEM NEWAY AIR-RIDE SUSPENSION SYSTEMS.
OPERATION OF THE TRAILERS HAS REVEALED A POSSIBILITY THAT THE AXLE BRACKET-TO-AXLE WELDS COULD CRACK, AND THE CRACKS COULD PROPAGATE INTO THE AXLE BEAM.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
