The short answer

Each figure’s source sits beside it, in its section below.

What these words mean5
Not read
The file this site reads doesn’t carry what inspectors found, so nothing is counted here. It doesn’t mean the place has a clean record: the state’s own site may have its reports. Source: How this site reads each source.
Inspection (survey)
A visit by state inspectors, often unannounced, who check a place against the rules it must meet. For nursing homes and other places Medicare pays, CMS calls these visits surveys: a standard survey of a nursing home comes at least every 15 months, and a complaint survey whenever a complaint calls for one. Source: CMS; 42 CFR 488.308.
Deficiency, citation, violation
What inspectors write up when a place didn’t meet a rule: the rule, what they saw, and when. CMS calls it a deficiency; states may say citation or violation. It is the inspectors’ finding, not a court’s, and the place is usually asked for a plan to correct it. Source: CMS, statement of deficiencies (Form CMS-2567); each state’s licensing agency.
Licence status
Whether the state’s licence lets the place operate now, in the state’s own words: licensed, on probation (allowed to keep operating on conditions, after problems), provisional, pending or expired. Source: Each state’s licensing agency.
Capacity
The most people the licence or certification lets the place care for at once: residents, children, beds or apartments, as the state counts them. It isn’t how many are there now. Source: Each state’s licensing agency.

What did inspectors find?

Michigan’s map layer carries no inspection dates, so none are listed here.

Michigan publishes each provider’s licensing inspections and special investigation reports on MiLEAP’s statewide facility search, which this page links. They aren’t read here yet, so none of them is shown or counted.

What the record doesn’t say

  • Michigan publishes each provider’s licensing inspections and special investigation reports on MiLEAP’s statewide facility search, which this page links. They aren’t read here yet, so none of them is shown or counted.
  • This page is built from the map layer of licensed child care centers and homes the State of Michigan publishes from MiLEAP’s licensing data, so a provider licensed or closed since may be missing or still shown.
  • Michigan’s map layer carries no inspection results, enforcement actions, ages, hours, quality rating, staffing levels or owners. Its county column doesn’t match the providers’ own addresses, so no county is shown.
  • A provider whose licence number’s letters (DC, DF or DG) disagree with its kind of care in Michigan’s layer isn’t shown here, as its kind can’t be told; MiLEAP’s statewide facility search has it.

What we’ve asked for. We asked Michigan’s MiLEAP Child Care Licensing Bureau on Oct 19, 2026 whether we may show its child care inspection records; we’re waiting for an answer. Until then, they’re on the statewide facility search.

Checked Oct 24, 2026. Updated weekly. The State of Michigan’s licence on the layer: “This dataset is a public record and ... there are no restrictions on the use, reproduction, or distribution of this dataset.” Facts are extracted; licensing reports are not republished.

If you believe something here is wrong, a correction starts with the agency whose record this copies: Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP), Child Care Licensing Bureau (layer by DTMB’s Center for Shared Solutions). Michigan’s own record is on cclb.michigan.gov. If Hearth Record copied something wrongly, it will fix it and log the correction publicly, with its date: how corrections work.

From the provider

The public record above comes first. Anything the provider adds will appear here, below it, and say who wrote it.

Replies

None. Replies aren’t open yet. When they open, the provider will be able to answer any finding for free, and the reply will show beside that finding, unedited and dated.

Paid listing

None. Paid listings aren’t open yet. When they open, anything paid for will say “Paid by the provider”, and paying will never change a finding, a rating or the order of results.
